 NOT for Laptops September 8, 2010

Do NOT purchase this keyboard skin for use with laptops; it is quite thick, and when you close your machine, the silicone will touch your screen. My screen now has a 'gummed in' image of the keyboard and it looks like this will be permanent. (I have been unable to clean it away).
I went back and bought a more expensive skin which is much much thinner, and seems to work well.

It's alright, but I've seen keyboard skin on Macbook Pro's that fit like a rubber glove that you didn't know that it had one until the owner pulled it out!

This product works ok, fits good, but is just too thick for my tastes. Illuminated keyboard is hard to see from certain angles with this product on.

Having once worked in an information systems department, I was well aware of how disgustingly dirty keyboards get, and on a laptop, that they can be very difficult to clean. I thus decided that I would contact Apple and find out if, since their owners manual for the MacBook states not to cover the keyboard, they would recommend this product, the associate said, "It works well for me and does not harm the function of the MacBook..." (paraphrased) So I purchased the keypad cover.
Typical keypads are smooth to the touch, this cover does provide more friction as it is a soft rubber. I think that for some this would be problematic, I personally like the feel of the cover. I also like knowing that I can clean the cover at anytime and the keyboard is protected from crumbs, dust, dead skin cells, and of coarse the office boogieman to any keyboard, staples and paperclips.
I would recommend this item.

This is the best accessory i've bought in a long time. I have a new 15.3" Mac Book Pro and I love this cover. It fits perfectly and I feel no difference in my typing. Totally worth the money and a great value for the price.
