Can't beat it July 30, 2010 Wot4 After shopping for quite some time, came across this affordable record player. I am not a DJ and did not want to drop hundreds on a turntable with features I don't care to use. After reading the reviews of this player, it almost seemed too good to be true, so I bought it. The reviews were accurate. This player can't be beat. Price is awesome. After a simple set up to my stereo(less than a couple of minutes), I was instantly impressed with this player. Sounds great. Simple to use. Just a great product. Very pleased.
Very nice turntable July 30, 2010 Christopher Moellering (Missouri) I purchased this turntable to be able to record my old albums onto my computer. I had read that USB-equipped turntables were often less than ideal. I found this on amazon and have been very pleased.
It came with standard RCA jacks and adapters to male and female 1/8" stereo so I can plug in speakers, headphones or into my computer without buying anything else.
Assembly was straightforward. (You have to put the turntable on the unit and attach the belt.)
Sound quality is great.
The "line-level" output works well. I have a Macbook and it accepts line-level inputs so ripping with Audacity is straightforward.
I would recommend this turntable to anyone with a stack of vinyl in the closet.
Good July 30, 2010 Wood After I got it set up correctly it is very easy to use. Great value, extra cords allow it to be set up to any speaker set up!
Full featured, nice price July 27, 2010 Andy Haverkamp Other record players in this price range do not have automatic arm motion, non-plastic (metal) turntable, or such quality construction.
If you are not spending 200 bucks on a record player, this is the one to get. Great price point for college kids or hobbyists - devoted audiophiles will of course need a higher priced record player. For the average guy, this is everything you need.
The stereo-out makes it easy to hook up to any speakers, and the construction is solid and does not feel cheap. Overall, the best record player out of the 3 I have owned.
Highly recommended at this price point July 23, 2010 M. Shah (Chicago) For well under $100, this is great bargain record player. If you want to get started listening to records, but don't want to spend the cash on a great player right away, this is the one for you. For me, I found my dad's old record collection and got curious. This record player has served well in reintroducing me to vinyl, and I have since added to my collection (a bad record player would discourage the budding hobby.)
It was easy to set up, and the player did bring out the depth of the vinyl sound. This turntable is also easy to use, with the start and stop buttons doing exactly what you need. Also, because it is a basic player, you don't need a whole lot of space to use it, which is great for our 1 bedroom apartment.
Of course, at this price, it's not perfect. As others have mentioned, the RCA cables are hard wired to the player, and are short. I needed to add RCA connectors/cables to get it to my receiver. Also, I'm lucky to have an older receiver with a Phono setting, as the pre-amp is definitely not as good. Even when testing with computer speakers, the pre-amp cannot compete with a decent receiver. Finally, there is a bit of a hum to the player with no ground wire to set (which I can with my receiver.) I'm sure there's some invasive way to solve it, but I'm not monkeying around with that yet.
Overall, a great turntable at this price and highly recommended for beginners.
