| Customer Reviews: Hearing is believing November 19, 2008 John N. Dimling (Winston-Salem,NC) A few years ago I purchased an inexpensive set of RCA interconnect cables to connect two McIntosh 75 monoblock amps to a McIntosh 20 preamp.Well, one of the prongs broke and I searched of a replacement hoping to find a better quality cable at a reasonable price. I read some reviews on cables and decided that the Belkin was the best choice. I bought a pair and connected them up and listened to some old vinyl recordings and it was actually like the sound stage was more open and seperated. Vocals were clearer sounding and there appeared to be a sharpness about the music. After that experience, I ordered another set to connect a McIntosh MR-71 receiver directly to a McIntosh 250 amp. I did a comparison between the Belkins and the old interconnects. I could actually tell that there was an absence of static using the Belkins. I had thought that it had been due to the poor reception of my old tuner but actually the static that I had been hearing was due to the old cables. I am a believer in spending more on good quality cables because they do make a difference!
Belkin Pure AV June 23, 2008 J. Gaston (Chicago, IL) Very nice cables. I have these Belkin cables for my entire system...even for the BLU-RAY HD uncompressed 5.1 audio. They sound great!
Mine goes up to 11 December 22, 2007 Sean P. Logue (Research Triangle Park, NC USA) I use these all the time. The outer nylon woven jacket makes them a bit more resistant to abrasion when pulling through little spaces in a stereo cabinet. The connector shells are metal, with well-shaped grips. The fit is tight, without the "grip of death" that some cables have. Eight feet is a nice length, long enough for most applications without stretching it, while not so long that you'll have coils of unused cable.
The only way they could be better, really, is if they had locking connectors, but these are probably best for general use.
Quality cables, but sounds rather thin August 3, 2007 Kevin Ng After reading several reviews about these cables online, I purchased one set to try them out. They are, after all, considerably cheaper than most budget audio cables. However, the midrange sounded very much thinner compared to the Audioquest Diamondback I was using. Instruments like piano and violin sounded too thin to be enjoyable. I suppose they are all right for a home theatre setup... but I do not recommend them for music.
