Excellent product. Look no further. July 15, 2010 Vaughn C. (houston) I needed a strap for my Stratocaster. Badly. But I needed one for cheap, instead of spending 20 dollars for a standard one at Guitar Center. If you don't think this is right for you, perhaps you should stop playing the instrument all together.
Pros
-It's VERY durable. It'll take anything you swing at it. I mean that literally.
-Nice and snug fit. It will not come out of the top of the guitar screw.
-Good length.
-I love how it doesn't force the brand logo on you, so it's very incognito and not flashy when you're playing at a show or jamming at your friend's house. Just my 2 cents on that little fact.
Cons
-It can be uncomfortable at prolonged periods of playing, but really, that's with any strap. You can disregard this fact if you want.
Good inexpensive guitar strap June 5, 2010 Adam D It will adjust to the length you will want and it will stay attached to your guitar (no fear of it falling off). My only negative comment is the leather strap connections make a squeak sound when they move on the knobs. But I have never owned a guitar strap before so I don't know what more expensive ones are like.
Works great ! June 3, 2010 MK Man (Michigan) For a $5 guitar strap I am very happy. Works good and no fear of dropping my guitar.
Some improvising ideas on a cheap guitar strap for a nice fix May 26, 2010 FG (NJ, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a low cost guitar strap, no frills, car seat belt-like material with leather(?)ends each having a hole and slit. The size is adjustable and should fit most guitar lengths. It comes without instructions. Usually, no problem with solid body electrics. Acoustic guitars often have one anchor at bottom. What about top end? Some say tie a shoelace, others suggest drilling holes to mount hardware. There are custom makers, you can inquire of shops, teachers. I pondered my budget buys; acoustic with one attachment at bottom, and a $5 strap. Didn't like shoelace idea but it would work. A household search resulted: things domestic found. The dog went by. Idea!.. small dog collar strap..at dollar type/clearance stores. Got lucky..found nylon, woven, 7 to 12 inch size. Worked great. Some fooling around needed/loosening strings to slip collar snaps inside. If you use, check for strength/safety, but may work if you're not too aggressive handling guitar.
Update for an extra $4. Great results and easy. In addition to Protec strap I speak of, get "Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar-Quick Release System item. (It's on Amazon.) You'll have a decent strap/device for $10 or so. If you tried dog strap and it's working, fine, but be aware of this for next time. FYI, I've upgraded the Protec strap to 4 stars for its good value and usefulness..it wound up being better than I thought earlier.
Good May 8, 2010 dnabios Product arrived quickly and in good condition. Note that unless you have a peg installed on your acoustic you will also need some string (or a shoelace) to tie the end up by the pegs. Overall, product functions as advertised and I am pleased with purchase.
