Excellent little tuner December 26, 2007 Daniel W. Ray This is the first mechanical tuner I've ever used that REALLY works. I've been playing guitar for over twenty years, and I've always been pretty sharp at ear-tuning an instrument. In the last couple years, though, I've been noticing it takes me longer and longer. Getting old is rough. And there's nothing quite like a PERFECTLY tuned guitar.
This little device (and it IS little, I was very surprised) is incredibly easy to use and very accurate. It sometimes has trouble with low strings, especially on my bass. No problem; just tune the 12th fret harmonic!
Yowzer! December 25, 2007 Michael W. Russell (Berkeley, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have to tune 12 guitars for my after school guitar class and this tuner helps me get it done muy pronto. Very good for open tunings and the large clip keeps the tuner on the guitar.
The Best Tuner I've Ever Had November 29, 2007 Lov2Snorkel 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I'm not a professional, just enjoy strummin' == this tuner is so easy to use! I've had it for several months now and haven't found any limitations or problems with it. It clips on the head of your guitar, uke, etc. I've used tuners that you place nearby and they pick up other sounds while you are trying to tune. The head of the Intell tuner rotates so that you can find the best angle for viewing.
F(*&*&*( Awesome! November 14, 2007 J. Castro This is the best tuner I've ever gotten!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! If you're a beginer or just don't have the ear for tuning, this will make tuning easier and train your ears. Dope a&* tuner. Get it man.
I like it, but... September 1, 2007 Denis Keith (Maine) First, it took a while to get here. One plus is that it only uses one lithium battery (the Intellitouch takes two). I too experienced the rattling buttons, and the vendor wrote: "Unfortunately, I can confirm that all Intelli Tuners have the same rattle. While you are free to exchange it, the replacement will be identical."
The screen swivels, but no matter where you put it on the headstock, the screen is always perpendicular (sideways) to your line of sight. Not that it matters much, you can still see the dial, but the letters are sideways. And the screen is not viewable if it's tilted at an angle from direct view.
Still, it responds more quickly than the Intellitouch, the dial is more intuitive than the arrows on Intellitouch, and therefore seems more accurate. It is smaller and lighter, and the clamp fits over my headstock better and folds up within the profile of the tuning keys. The transposing feature is very cool, and if I could get a unit that doesn't rattle, I might prefer it to my Intellitouch.
